Coming for Christmas!
"Life on Paws" is a heartfelt memoir about dogs, love, and starting anew with a crate-trained puppy. Join Kendall as she embraces the chaos of building a dog training business with the man she loves. Perfect for anyone who finds laughter and healing in their furry friends.
When Kendall left behind the classroom and stepped into a new life with her Marine Corps partner and a howling Labrador puppy named Strider, she didn’t just start a business — she began a journey. Life on Paws is a memoir of muddy beginnings, sleepless nights, and the quiet courage it takes to build a dream life from the ground up.
With warmth, wit, and raw honesty, Kendall shares the behind-the-scenes of dog training, the lessons dogs taught her about partnership, presence, and purpose, and the growing pains of loving boldly while learning on the fly. It's a story about believing in something before it's real — and walking it out with leash in hand.

Kendall Brown is a local author and dog trainer at Custom K-9 Service Dogs. She published her first book, “10 Secrets of a Lazy Dog Trainer,” which is one part memoir and one part dog training advice. It just ranked #1 in Biology of Dogs and Wolves yesterday, and #3 in Dog Care and Health. Monday, she stopped by Morning Break to talk about her second book called, “Let’s Get a Dog!” It is about what you should know before you get a dog. From knowing the different types of breeds to learning the differences between shelters, rescues and breeders to how to do a temperament test and more. Brown have two more books planned for this year, including a memoir in the style of “James Harriot” and an “Advanced Secrets of a Lazy Dog Trainer.”
